Jim McSpiritt has experience working in mechanical engineering, quality assurance, technical documentation, fiber optics, 3D printing, and electronics. Within our group, Jim designs and fabricates many of our custom components, including opto-mechanics, electronic control boxes, Mobile Lab components, rack mounted components, as well as parts from the very small, such as mounts for chip lasers and detectors, to much larger devices, such as a 20 foot rotating boom that was used to measure gas plumes at varying diameters from a release point. Jim enjoys improving the organization and efficiency of the group, and participates in many projects designed to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of the work.   He enjoys tennis, roller coasters, reading, science and technology, and history.
