Kang Sun, a third year Ph.D. student, has been awarded a NASA Earth and Space Science Graduate Fellowship on his project "Validation of TES Ammonia Using an Open-Path Quantum Cascade Laser Based Spectrometer." Atmospheric ammonia plays critical roles in the formation of unhealthy particulate matter, and Kang's high-resolution measurements will be coupled to global but coarser NASA satellite measurements to help improve our understanding of air quality. Congratulations, Kang!
